Kentucky State Police Post 1 collision reconstructionists are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday afternoon, which claimed the life of one driver.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on June 3, KSP dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Ky. 272 (Caledonia Road) at the intersection of Sinking Fork Road in Cadiz.
Preliminary investigation has shown a male, who had yet to be positively identified at press time, was driving a 1990 Ford F150 westbound on Ky. 272 when, for an unknown reason, he entered the eastbound lane. At the same time, Kendra D. Johnson, 37, of Cadiz was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier eastbound on Ky. 272. The two vehicles hit head-on near the intersection of Sinking Fork Road. The Ford F150 caught fire after the collision.
Trigg County Ambulance transported Johnson and a juvenile passenger to Jeannie Stewart Medical Center for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The juvenile was then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment.
Trigg County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced the male driver of the Ford F150 deceased at the scene.
Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Trigg County Sheriffs Office, Trigg County Rescue Squad, Caledonia Pee-dee Fire Department, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Trigg County Coroner, and Trigg County Ambulance.
The investigation is continuing by Detective Eric Fields, KSP reconstructionist. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
