Staff Report - Email News Wednesday, July 01, 2009
Dickey Reece, Vessel Safety Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, has an experienced crew of volunteers ready to assist him in providing all area boaters a free safety boat check at Lake Barkley State Park Marina this Saturday, July 4, 2009. “We will be on hand commencing at 8:00am, and will remain on site until all those boat owners wishing a thorough inspection of their boat is completed.
We inspect boats large and small, starting with small runabouts and jet skies to houseboats exceeding 90 feet. This activity takes less than 15 minutes, but assures the owner that his facility is ready to be safely taken on the lakes this summer.” Reece went on to state that” every owner will be provided a safety inspection seal, and a copy of the completed report.
To contact Officer Reece for any questions or concerns, he can be reached at 270-27-2185, or email him at dickeyreece@bellsouth.net.
