‘Tis the night before Christmas and under the tree will Santa bring you the books you wanted to read? If not then visit your Library. That jolly old elf probably left them under the library tree! Take a peek at “Pam’s Picks” and see.

My fiction picks, “True Blue” by David Baldacci, a mysterious high-profile homicide in the nations capital collides with the dark side of national security. Available in regular, large print, and audio book on CD.

Then, everyone’s favorite detective, Spenser is back in “The Professional” by Robert B. Parker. Yeah Boston P. I. Spenser! If you like P.I.’s then you might also enjoy, V. I. Warshawski, in “Hardball” by Sara Paretsky. Chicago politics people are disappearing!

My Non-fiction pick: “Time of My Life” by Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi, plus a book some of you have requested, “Duggars: 20 and Counting!” by Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. Wow! Eighteen kids and counting!

New Fiction: “There Goes the Bride” by M. C. Beaton, this is an Agatha Raisin mystery. Agatha reluctantly agrees to attend the wedding of her ex-husband, James Lacey. But before James can tie the knot with the lovely, much younger Felicity, the bride is shot to death.

Felicity’s mother hires Agatha to find the monster responsible, despite the disapproval of Felicity’s father George. As other corpses connected to George begin turning up. Agatha maybe in harm’s way after she figures out the George and a friend are involved in illegal activities.

“Rough Country” by John Sandford, this is a Virgil Flowers novel. Virgil gets a call from his boss, Lucas Davenport. Lucas orders Virgil to look into the shooting death of Erica McDill, an ad agency exec from Minneapolis and a big supporter of the Democratic Party. Virgil turns up some unusual details. It’s a complicated case, but Virgil is up to the task

Books to Movies: soon to be released, “Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold, we have the book and Audio Book on tape.

New Reference: “ASVAB Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery 2010” with three full-length practice tests. This book requires a $15.00 cash deposit. Money is returned when the book is returned.

“Kentucky Directory Gold Book 2009-2010” if you need an address or phone number for a state office or person this is the book for you.

New Audio Books: “Rough Country” by John Sandford, “True Blue” by David Baldacci, and “Professional” by Robert B. Parker.

New DVDs: “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday,” and “Chrissa Stands Strong: An American Girl.”

The Library will be closed Dec. 24 - 26 for Christmas and Dec. 31 - Jan. 2 for the New Years Holiday.
