JMAM to host Aqueous USA exhibit
by The Cadiz Record Email News
According to JMAM officials, this is the 25th year for the exhibit that features some of the best watercolor creations in the nation. The paintings on display at the museum are a traveling exhibit of the award winners from nearly 300 works submitted from 32 states. The paintings are on display in only 12 museums and galleries over the course of a year. "Each year this exhibit is more exciting!" Museum Board President Paula Lisowsky said. "It is truly inspiring to see these works in person. To be able to enjoy this caliber of work right here in Cadiz is a real treat." Dr. Martha Davis pointed out that some Trigg County artists has entered the Aqueous USA contest, however their works will be presented elsewhere. The exhibit offers something for everyone. This is the fifth year for the Janice Mason Art Museum to host the winners of this contest. The Aqueous exhibit will be open from March 7 through March 20. Hours are 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sundays. The museum is closed on Wednesdays. Most of the paintings are for sale and a portion of any local sales goes to the Janice Mason Art Museum. For more information about the Aqueous USA exhibit, visit the museum's web site at www.jmam.org or contact Lisowski or Dr. Martha Davis at the museum office at 522-9056.
