‘Cats split last two games before tourney

Trigg County finished the 2010-11 regular season with what head coach Mike Wright called two solid performances – a 59-46 win last Tuesday at Todd County Central and a 79-67 loss Friday at Hopkinsville.

Trigg was scheduled to play its first round game of the 5th District Tournament on Tuesday against host Livingston Central. Results were unavailable at press time.

Last Tuesday, Trigg shot 53.5 percent from the field (23-for-43) to take down the Rebels. Deonquez Nance led the Wildcats with 19 points and was joined in double figures by Luke McKenzie with 13, Cole Gardner with 11 and Jaylan Mount with 10. Jakelze Martin, David Wease and Chris McKenzie each scored two.

Nance led Trigg with 22 points on Friday against Hoptown, followed by Luke McKenzie with 17, Mount with 12, Gardner with 10, Chris McKenzie with four and Martin with two.
