Police Chief Hollis Alexander made it official last week, formally announcing his candidacy for the 2006 election of Trigg County Judge Executive.

More than 100 people converged in front of the courthouse at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Current Judge-Executive Berlin Moore told Alexander beforehand he should be happy if 50 people showed.

“I’d have loved to have this kind of support,” Moore said.

“It’s not much of a secret anymore,” Alexander told the crowd, “not that I wanted it to be a secret — I’m glad that everybody knows and I’m glad that folks are talking about it.”
