Graveside services were held for Mrs. Alice Jones Lile, 97, of Hopkinsville, on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery.

The Rev. Kent Workman officiated. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Lile was born on May 22, 1913 in Christian County to the late Frazier and Lena Osteen Griffin.

Alice worked at Montgomery Ward in the service department and she taught school for the Trigg County Schools at Roaring Springs, Averett and Trigg County Elementary School. She retired from Thomas Industries where she worked in accounts payable. She was a member of the Roaring Springs Christian Church, where she was the oldest member and played the piano for 60 years. Alice was a member of the Salvation Army and a Pink Lady at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Mrs. Lile was preceded in death by her first husband, Tilghman Jones; second husband, Roscoe Lile; two brothers, William and James Griffin; and one daughter, Martha Jones Noel.

Survivors include her daughter, Julia Jones Joiner of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Roaring Springs Christian Church.
