Funeral services for Ammie Ward, 86, of Caldwell County, will be conducted on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, June 28.

Revs. Tom Hughes, Roger Rice, Jeff French, and Aaron Nelson will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Lance Nichols Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward died on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 12:55 p.m., at Rivers Bend Retirement Center in Kuttawa, following a short illness.

Mrs. Ward was born on January 20, 1920, in Caldwell County. She was the daughter of Scobie and Willie Dorr Alexander.

Mrs. Ward was a homemaker; and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Ward; two brothers, Fordney Alexander, and Delmar Alexander; and three sisters, Emily Buntin, Rhetta Molzen, and Willie Frances Alexander.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Liz Ward of Princeton; a daughter, Phyllis Kilgore of Caldwell County; three grandchildren, Missy Nelson and husband, Randy, Michael Ward and Wife, Janet, and Debbie McDaniel; five great-grandchildren, Aaron Nelson, Adrian Nelson, John Robert Ward, Kate Ward, and KaLee McDaniel; two brothers, Melvin Alexander of Kuttawa, and George Alexander of Hopkins County; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Ward, Randy Nelson, Aaron Nelson, John Robert Ward, Buddy Ward, Tom Ward, Roger Ward, Hugh Ward, and Henry Yates.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Douglas Ward.
