Revs. Jim Ricks and Kevin Roberts officiated at the services. Entombment was at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, with Military Honors.
Mr. Lantrip died on Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 6:40 p.m., at Western Kentucky Veteran’s Center in Hanson of natural causes.
Mr. Lantrip was born on April 15, 1918, in White Plains. He was the son of the late Otis F. and Mertie L. Whitfield Lantrip.
Mr. Lantrip was retired from Breckenridge Job Corp as an Instructor; member of Cadiz Baptist Church; was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, currently a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121; Lifetime Member of VFW; Shriner; Scottish Rite; KY Colonel; Elks; past president of Trigg County Senior Citizens Council; and served on the Board of Directors for Pennyrile Allied Community Services and Pennyrile Allied Development District.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell Lantrip, Otis Clayborne Lantrip, and Oral Lee Lantrip.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Martha Elizabeth Farmer Lantrip of Cadiz; daughter, Martha Whelan of Cadiz; step-granddaughter, Shannon Devega of Euless, Texas; four step-great-grandchildren; brother, Wilmer Lantrip of Hopkinsville; and five sisters, Lottie King and Bonnie Adkins, both of Mesa, Ariz., Marie Vandiver of Mortons Gap, Jean Collins of Watkinsville, Ga., and Margie Shelton of Evansville, Ind.
