Ann Edwards McCroskey Ivins, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Trigg County, died on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Mrs. Ivins was born Ann Wallace Edwards in 1941, in McLean County, Ky. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Edwards.

Mrs. Ivins grew up in Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville, and later earned a Masters Degree from Murray State University. She was a dedicated, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher at high schools across the state, including Trigg County High School. She tirelessly devoted her time to those in need, including the Court Appointed Special Advocates and the Grizzly School in Memphis, as well as her students, friends and family.

Her 1st husband, Dr. G. Lane McCroskey, Jr., preceded Mrs. Ivins in death.

Survivors include her husband, Kent Ivins of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Jay A. McCroskey of Chicago, Ill.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Meg and Dana Blum of Boulder, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Annie Blum.

Per Ann’s wishes, no memorial service is immediately planned. She would have hated this obituary because she always made it clear she wanted her obituary to read simply “Ann Died.” Those of you who knew her understand how perfect that is.
