Graveside services for Anna Litchfield Powell, 72, of Cadiz, were conducted at noon Monday, July 12, 2010 at East End Cemetery. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

The Rev. Dr. Hilda Bentley officiated.

Mrs. Powell died of natural causes at 6:40 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Cadiz.

Mrs. Powell was born July 3, 1938 in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Layton and Woodrow Faulkner Litchfield.

Mrs. Powell was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Layton Litchfield.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Gene Powell; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Marilyn McKinney Hearnsberger and Col. Brian Hearnsberger of Oceanside, Calif., Melissa McKinney Howell and Thomas Howell, Louisville and Janice Powell Mason and David Mason, Clearwater, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law Michael and Tricia Powell of Omaha, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Oden Howell and Grace Elizabeth Howell of Louisville, Andrew Buchanan Howell of Murray, Benjerman Powell and Mason Wesley Powell of Fairfax, Va., Olivia Erin Powell of Omaha, Neb., Charlotte Mason, Mary Margaret Mason, Elizabeth Mason, Carrie Anna Mason and Kathryn Elizabeth Mason, all of Clearwater, Fla.; and cousin Margaret Ann and Ronnie Pritchard, Brentwood, Tenn.

Serving, as pallbearers were Steve Mallory, Hollis Alexander, Sonny Litchfield, Ronnie Pritchard, Matthew Howell, Andrew Howell and Thomas Howell.

Charlie Stamper, violinist, provided the music.
