This event will follow the parade route as far as the park where the parade will officially end. However, the runners will continue on back to the finish line, which is 3/4 around the track on Purdue Field.
Walkers are encouraged to shorten their walk by turning beside the Justice Center or just stopping to watch the rest of the parade go by at any point! If runners are competing for an award they must continue on the road back to the school on Lafayette Street to the track.
The first 100 participants are guaranteed a Reindeer Run t-shirt along with a strobe light to clip onto the back of running clothing to provide visibility. There are numerous door prizes including a two-hour kayak tour for two on Lake Barkley.
All equipment and instructions will be included, a one night Bed and Breakfast stay in a cozy lakeside apartment, several restaurant gift certificates, candy and much more! There will be awards for the first three finishers in several categories.
The application is to the left of this story. Registration fee is $10 for active military and students 18 and younger. For all others the registration fee is $20 up to race day.
There have been many community sponsors who are helping and their names will be printed on T-shirts. There is a correction from some earlier entry forms about the youngest age group: It should be 10 and under.
This second annual event will again benefit Bright Life Farms in Princeton which is a wonderful family home for mentally challenged adults. Bright Life is not state nor federally funded and is supported by the generosity of many individuals, churches and groups.
