Janice Mason Art Museum performing arts will present “Dining with the Dearly Departed” on Saturday, September 29, 5:30 P.M. at East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Audience members will have the opportunity to enjoy a box-supper with dinner music performed by Landon Sumner. Following the meal, there will be a guided walk through the cemetery to “meet” several former residents of Cadiz and hear a little about their lives and history of the town.

Performers include Wayne and Pam Goolsby as Thomas and Mary Grinter, Smitty P’Pool as Duncan McBride, Nell Marshall as Ruth Humphries, Hawkins Teague as Bradley Hargrove, Will Ezell as Burt Aldridge, Sr. and Jean Martin as Mabel Sexton. Tickets for the dinner and performance are $15.00 and are available at the Janice Mason Art Museum and Eldora’s Books, Etc. Tickets must be purchased by September 25. There will be no tickets sold at the event. In case of rain, the performance will be rescheduled for Sunday, September 30, at 4:00 P.M. DVDs of the performance can be ordered at Janice Mason Art Museum or Eldora’s Books, Etc. at a cost of $5.00.

This event is being sponsored by the museum as a fund-raiser for their performing arts program. Future productions planned are Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, which will be presented November 29, 30, and December 2; and the annual summer musical. There will be an arts booster meeting on September 20 at 6:30 P.M. at the Trigg County High School Library to discuss events and programs for the coming year. Anyone who is interested in supporting or participating in art events in Cadiz/Trigg County is encouraged to attend. Paul Fourshee, museum board member said, “We have always had particularly good support from the community, and I know there will be many who want to be involved as a booster in supporting our arts students.”
