Funeral services for Barbara Jean McCoy Adams, 67, of Cadiz were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Goodwin Funeral Home.

The Rev. Kenny Rogers officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Adams Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mrs. Adams died at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Kindred Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. of natural causes.

Mrs. Adams was born on July 18, 1941 in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late John McCoy Sr. and Nella Boyd Dunn McCoy and her stepmother, Mary Speaks of Cadiz.

Mrs. Adams was a homemaker. She was a member of Linton United Methodist Church and a member of Linton Easter Star No. 149.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lonnie Ray McCoy, Charles McCoy, Earnest McCoy, and one great-grandchild, Audrey Gray.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Walter Adams, Trigg County; stepmother, Mary Speaks of Cadiz; two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Adams of the home and Robert and Kim Adams, Trigg County; five brothers, Jimmy McCoy, Benton; John McCoy, Jr., Cadiz, Homer McCoy, Murray, William McCoy, Wake Va.; one sister, Carolyn Holloway, Cheyenne, Wyo., four grandchildren, Aaron Adams, Candace Adams, Amanda Adams, Jayson Adams; three step-grandchildren, Cale Ramsey, Brandon Travis and Britanni Travis.
