The surgery was a success and he would have to take six weeks to recover. However, a week after the surgery Bruce took a turn for the worse.
He was unable to eat or drink. He was admitted back in the hospital the end of February, where he stayed for about a week, then was sent home.
Unfortunately, he was still not well. March 19, he was one again admitted to the hospital. At this point, the family was afraid this was the end.
The doctors did everything possible, including placing a feeding tube, and removing his gallbladder, and today he is still here with us. Bruce even was able to make it to the benefit held for him April 30.
The benefit was held at the Cadiz Baptist Church Annex. It featured 2nd coming, Ridge Runners, and Lisa Fitzhugh.
At the closing of the benefit Bruce stated, “Had it not been for my wife and daughters I probably wouldn’t be here today. I had prayed for the Lord to take me home.”
The family would like to tell everyone thank you everyone who attended, and also for all of the cards, thoughts, and prayers.
