Taylor announced on Monday, March 9, that he was resigning from the court, effective Monday, March 16, to work with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and his seat has been vacant ever since. Taylor said that with his new position, there would be the appearance of a conflict of interest.
Knight, a Cadiz resident, had previously worked as a salesperson for Wildcat Chevrolet, and has also worked as a seasonal sports host for WKDZ radio, according to a press release from Goveror Beshear’s communication office.
Knight received his Bachelors of Broadcast Journalism degree from Murray State University, and will serve as the First District magistrate until the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, said the press release.
