Funeral services for Bessie Griffin Turner, 92, of Murray, were conducted on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

John Dale officiated at the services. Burial followed in Turner Cemetery in the Kentucky portion of Land Between The Lakes.

Mrs. Turner died on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at 6:30 a.m., at her residence of natural causes.

Mrs. Turner was born on June 4, 1914, in Golden Pond, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Wilton and Birdie Baker Griffin.

Mrs. Turner was a homemaker, and was a member of Friendship Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Huda Franklin Turner; two brothers, Noble Griffin and Elvin Griffin; and two sisters, Florence Griffin and Roxie Pentilla.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Turner of Murray, and Evelyn Steele and Betty Boren, both of Dover, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Melody Boren, Jeff Steele, and Wendy Watson; and two great-grandchildren, Melinda Watson and Makayla Watson.

Serving as pallbearers were Ray Griffin, Jody Griffin, James Boren, Terry Watson, Jerry Overbey, and Columbus Waldrup.

Memorial contributions may be made to Murray-Calloway County Hospice.
