Ipock is from Beulah, but he said he sells fruit and vegetables in several places around the South every year, including Florida and Alabama. He said he started selling produce 50 years ago as a way to supplement his income during the spring and summer when he wasn’t hauling coal. He has been coming to Cadiz for about 18 years, he said. Currently, he sets up shop at a barn on Rockcastle Road near the Main Street intersection. He’s open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. if he doesn’t have to see a doctor for his health. He buys all his stock from farmers in the area, but takes care of business alone.
“I run it by myself and haul all of it too,” he said.
