Funeral services for Blanche Grigsby Oliver, 93, of Cadiz, were conducted on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Dr. Hilda Bentley officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Robinson-Hite Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mrs. Oliver died on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at 5:50 p.m., at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz of natural causes.

Mrs. Oliver was born on September 6, 1913, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Bailey and Annie Hite Grigsby.

Mrs. Oliver was a homemaker; was a charter member and last surviving member of the Trigg County Homemakers Club; charter member of the Gateway Garden Club; and was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice Haydon Oliver in 1975; two brothers, Clifton Grigsby and Waldo Grigsby; and a sister, Mary Dale Booker.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ramon and Becky Oliver of Cadiz; a niece and nephew-in-law, Jan and Tom Malmer of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Brandon and wife, Molly Oliver, Bailey Oliver, and Lucy Oliver; and four great-grandchildren, Kylee Rogers, Mitch Rogers, Lexie Oliver, and Cabott Oliver.

Becky Oliver, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Lyn Bailey, Tom Malmer, Steven Tyler, Josh Thomas, Scott Bridges, and Billy Dawson.
