The Cadiz/Trigg County Tourist Commision will be holding the annual Bluegrass Jam downtown on Sept. 8. Board member Alan Watts, who was this year’s main planner, said that the event was held at Lakeland Jamboree in the past, but that they had wanted to open it up to a larger crowd this year by having it outside. He said that about 200 people could stand in the Jamboree building and that it had been filled to capacity in the past.
Watts said the main show would start at about 6 p.m., but that the stage would open to the general public in the afternoon for freestyle jamming. Several groups have been booked for the main show, including the Slimey River Boys, which is group made up of musicians from Cadiz, Bumpus Mills, Tenn. and Clarksville. Also on the bill is Logan County Grass.
