Fred Smith, of Cadiz, was the only constituent on hand to voice his opinion, which wasn’t disapproval of the proposed hike, but rather an inquiry into the justification.
Board Chairman Mike Davis met in an informal one-on-one discussion with Smith, which Superintendent Tim McGinnis later joined.
“I understand what you are feeling,” McGinnis said to Smith.
The increase, which was approved by the board, is half percent increase from the previous 2.5 percent to 3 percent.
