Trigg County Hospital awakened last Wednesday to a new leader and potentially a new future, if her plans work out accordingly.

Lisa Coleman, the newest chief executive officer in the hospital’s 33-year history, arrived to work Wednesday for her first official day on the job.

She plans to officially introduce a Board Action Plan that was proposed by Quorum Health Resources, the new management company, and approved by the Board of Trustees.

Coleman was on site Tuesday for a welcome reception and the chance to get to know the staff and board members. She also met with Mayor Lyn Bailey and Judge Executive Berlin Moore.

She said then that she plans to do what she can to improve the financial stability of the hospital, which has not seen an up-to-date financial breakdown since early in 2004. Quorum Regional Vice President Tom Woodward said that would be something that will be fixed at the next board meeting as Coleman and Woodward will likely present an up-to-date financial breakdown of the hospital May 19.
