Gary Stanton and Malcolm Rust officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
Mr. Turner died on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 3:35 p.m., at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, following a short illness.
Mr. Turner was born on May 1, 1935, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late John Sam and Lilly Arthelia Rogers Turner.
Mr. Turner was employed by the Kentucky Highway Department; was the former owner and operator of Bobby’s Grocery and Bait Shop in Canton; and was a member of the Cadiz Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert B. Turner and George Turner; and two sisters, Pauline Billington and Lorene Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 51-1/2 years, Nancy Rust Turner of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Ray and Denise Turner of Cadiz; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Steve Francis of Cadiz; three brothers, W.R. Turner of Trenton, and V.T. Turner and D.T. Turner, both of Elkton; grandchildren, Kenny Ray Turner, II, Heather Marie and Heath Dawson, Kelly and J.L. Hendricks, Jr., Michelle and Jason Wease, and Megan Francis; step-grandchildren, Heather Louise and Glenn Pellegrino; great-grandchildren, Billy Ray Dawson, Christian Heath Dawson, Brittney Hendricks, Austin Ray Hendricks, Emilee Hendricks, David Wease, Justen Wease, and Jacob Wease.
Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Ray Turner, II, Gilford Turner, Tony Rust, Billy Ray Turner, Mike Turner, David Turner, and Andy Rust.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Billington, Raymond Billington, James R. Turner, Sammy Turner, and co-workers from the State Highway Department.
The Cadiz Church of Christ congregation provided the music.
