On Thursday, July 19, residents from Trigg and surrounding counties will have the opportunity to design their future.

Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. representatives from the Kentucky Department of Highways will be on hand at Lake Barkley State Resort Park to answer questions concerning the proposed design plans for two new bridges over Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

The representatives will distribute handouts on the project, comment sheets and offer displays about the proposed bridges to replace the Eggner’s Ferry and Lawrence Memorial Bridge.

Kentucky Highways Commissioner Marc Williams said, “We’re inviting residents of the Kentucky and Barkley Lakes region to play a part in the design selection of two new bridges. The goal of this process is to balance design options with available funding to develop a cost-effective design that achieves some of what I am sure are local desires for a dynamic gateway that reflects the unique character of the region.”
