Byers wins again at Hopkinsville

Lynease Byers picked up another win Thursday at Hopkinsville’s all-comers cross country meet.

Byers led the way for Trigg County with a time of 21 minutes, 21 seconds and was closely followed by teammate Xzashea Mayes, who finished second in 21:37.

Also running for the Lady Wildcats was Hannah Barnett, who finished eighth in 24:07.

For the Wildcats, Debo Mayes recorded the best finish in sixth (20:03) and was followed by Garrett Brown (12th, 21:07), Matt Savage (13th, 21:19), J.B. Hendricks (17th, 22:06), Jakelze Martin (18th, 22:06) and Jake Mitchell (21st, 23:17).

In the middle school boys race, Ethan Dossett earned another win for Trigg with a time of 10:20. Following him for the Midcats were Reagan Hyde (third, 11:18), Sebastian Skinner (eighth, 11:42) and Reagan Goulik (14th, 16:42).

Trigg was the only school to field runners in the middle school girls race. Jordan Woodall came in first in 12:35, followed by Kayla Bingham (12:37), Anna Morgan (14:02) and Emily Adrina (14:57).
