Cadiz Police investigated a pair of crashes last week.

At 7:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Courtney B. Meredith, 22, of Roaring Springs Road, was westbound on U.S. 68 near the Kings Chapel Road intersection. For an unknown reason, Meredith collided with the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Linda N. Bacon of Cerulean Road, causing Bacon’s vehicle to go through the median, according to a Cadiz Police Department report.

Bacon was transported to Trigg County Hospital for multiple injuries. A passenger in the Bacon vehicle, George Martin, 52, of Cavanaugh Street, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment of possible injuries.

Meredith was taken to the hospital by private vehicle for a head injury.

Because both drivers gave differing accounts of how the crash occurred, the Cadiz Police Department is continuing their investigation. Sgt. Richard Martin is investigating the crash. No charges are expected to be filed.

Cadiz Police were assisted at the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Trigg County Rescue, and Trigg County EMS.

At 12:28 p.m. last Wednesday, Donald L. Dawson Jr., 22, of Caledonia Road, was eastbound on Main Street on a Yamaha motorcycle. Sonja C. Moore, 69, of Forrest Circle Drive, turned left from Bella Drive onto Main Street and into the path of Dawson’s motorcycle. Dawson attempted to avoid Moore’s vehicle by steering left but was struck in the side, knocking him from the bike.

Dawson was transported to Trigg County Hospital with an arm injury. Dawson was wearing a helmet, which likely prevented serious injury based on the damage to the helmet, according to the report.

Moore was not injured. She stated she did not see Dawson.

The crash was investigated by Officer Scott Brown.
