“I didn’t believe that Rep. Carr had switched parties until I saw him with Sen. (Mitch) McConnell and Rep. (Ed) Whitfield,” Trigg County Democratic Women’s Club member Virginia Alexander said. “Then I knew it was true.”
The Trigg County Democratic Women’s Club was told by Carr that he would not switch to the Republican Party, despite his conservative campaign platform.
“I had no reason to think I would,” Carr said in an exclusive interview with The Cadiz Record last week.
Not only surprising, Alexander said the announcement was “disappointing,” however remained understanding and appeared somewhat supportive of Carr in his new endeavors.
