As a part of the Trigg County football’s season long emphasis, ‘Cats with Character’, the team will gather for a meal and program each Wednesday night of the season. The purpose of the gatherings is to build team unity and develop individual character. A team composed of parents, coaches, and community leaders have formed to coordinate the gatherings.

The coordinating Team would like to encourage local churches and community organizations to participate by providing a meal and a speaker or program for a selected gathering. The gatherings will begin on August 25, 2004, and continue each Wednesday night through October 27. The hour-long gatherings will begin with a meal at 6 p.m., followed by the speaker or program. Local churches or community organizations interested in hosting a week and providing a meal are asked to contact Jason Strickland at 522-6002.

Other aspects of ‘Cats with Character’ are community service and church attendance. Players are required to do ten hours of community service this season. Players are encouraged to join the team on alternating Sundays as they visit a local church together.

Coordinating Team members are Dennis and Kim Adams, Eric Bleidt, Curtis and Melissa Higgins, Vernetta Kennedy, Vivian McGee, Jason Strickland, and Leslie Wallace.
