The previous meeting had been called for Nov. 27 so that the council could have a first reading on an ordinance to annex the Wyandot Village subdivision. With a roll call vote, council members Susan Bryant, Jim Ricks, Manuel Brown, Bob Noel, Regenia Wilkerson Jasper and Frankie Phillips approved the second reading. Bryant apologized for missing the previous meeting because of a misunderstanding about the time it was to be held.
Public Works Director Kerry Fowler reported during his allotted portion of the meeting that the remaining streetlights for the Streetscape Project had arrived and said people should see them lit up very soon. He said the project was still under budget.
During the Main Street report, Renaissance on Main Director Cindy Sholar said she was still awaiting the contracts for the recently approved façade grants. She also reported that the city had done well with the cost of Christmas lights. She said that Economic Development Commission Director Sharon Butts would not be able to give her monthly report because she was in Chicago with the EDC directors from Christian, Todd and Calloway counties meeting with companies. Sholar said Butts would be traveling to Canada again soon for six follow-up appointments with several companies she talked with in September. Sholar also said that the city’s Web site is up and running. The address is cadiz.ky.gov.
