The City of Cadiz published a notice this week informing the public about an ordinance that allows the city to issue tax credits to insurance companies instead of cash refunds. The City Council voted on the first reading of the ordinance at its Sept. 11 meeting and approved the second reading on Oct. 2.

The notice, certified by City Attorney Marvin Lee Wilson, states that it is to inform the public of an ordinance relating to refunds of insurance premium tax paid to the City. The ordinance sets forth the procedure to request a refund, the form any refund will take and the City shall not be liable for interest except as provided by state law. A complete copy of the ordinance is available for inspection at City Hall during regular business hours.”
