Revs. Buddy Weatherford and Gary Chapman officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Dunning Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Mr. Stewart died on Friday, March 24, 2006, at 8:12 p.m., at his residence of natural causes.
Mr. Stewart was born on November 12, 1930, in Christian County. He was the son of the late Clarence M. Stewart and Myrtle Lee Hardin Stewart Cook.
Mr. Stewart was a retired Truck Driver; and was a member of Stokes Chapel in Todd County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Stewart; second wife, Helen Louise Stewart; sister, Katherine P’Pool; and five brothers, Carlos Stewart, Jack Stewart, William Stewart, James Stewart, and Frank Aubrey Stewart.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William “Sonny” and Jennifer Stewart of Pembroke, and Bobby Wayne and Vikki Stewart of Hopkinsville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Roger Leneave, Mildred Sue Stewart, and Sandra Dean and John Mann, all of Hopkinsville; five stepchildren and their spouses, Larry Blythe and Frankie and Debbie Blythe, all of Hopkinsville, Ralph Blythe of Cadiz, Brenda and Russell Hester of Paoli, Ind., and Jennifer and William “Sonny” Stewart of Pembroke; a brother, Raymon Ellis Stewart of Cadiz; two sisters, Martha Hester of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Shirley Baker of New York; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Delbert Strader, Darlene Eggers, and Rita Cornelius, vocalists, and Steve Eggers, instrumentalist provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Stewart, Jason Mann, John Mann, Jr., Jason Hart, Jerry Blythe, and Lenard Stewart.
