Funeral services for Clarence L. Francis, 80, of Brentwood, Tenn., formerly of Trigg County, were held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Interment followed at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. The Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated.

Mr. Francis passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Greenhills Health & Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tenn.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He retired as a CPA and was a partner at the Hoskins & Francis CPA Firm. He was also a member of Shriners, Madisonville Rotary Club, Madisonville Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

He is survived by his one daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Bill Wood of Brentwood, Tenn.; one sister, Betty F. Nicholson of Hermitage, Tenn.; two brothers, Bill Francis of Cadiz and Carl Ray Francis of Henderson; and three grandchildren, Morgan Wood, Alex Wood and Zach Wood.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Averitt Francis, mother Berta (Thomas) Francis, wife Joan B. Francis, brother Robert Francis and sister Donna Moore.

Music provided by Clay King, vocalist and pianist. Pallbearers were George Moore, Gene Nicholson, Merrick Francis, Winfield Witty, Dale Light and Clarence Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Rex Francis, C A Francis, Wes Francis and Steve Francis.

Memorial contributions can be made to Arthritis Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
