Genesis Express is again sponsoring its annual march in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, with a service to follow at Bloomfield Baptist Church. Marchers will meet at 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 21 at the parking lot next to the A.S.K. Family Resource and Youth Services Center.

Genesis member Jonathan White said that after a couple prayers and the traditional “Why We March” speech, participants would march down Main Street until they arrived at the church. Because of rain, the march was canceled at the last minute in 2007, but White said it would go on as usual this year.

After everyone has gathered at the A.S.K. Center, the march will begin at 10 a.m. The memorial service will begin at Bloomfield Baptist at 11:30. Light refreshments will follow the service.
