Fees at the Trigg County Recreation Complex will increase this year for many rentals. In addition, the complex will require a $100 deposit on facility rentals to ensure prompt exit and thorough cleaning.

To rent the main building, the Complex’s board of directors approved a flat fee of $300 for one day to for-profit entities, and $150 for non-profit groups.

Committee member Kerri Stewart said, “We need to collect a deposit to be sure the building is clean every week.”

The committee approved Stewart’s suggestion and voted to collect the refundable deposit for the main building, but for ball fields and the pavilion for horse shows.

Fellow committee member Randy Allen said, “We would give the deposit back if the buildings and grounds are clean.”

Stewart suggested raising fees for ball field use for private tournaments from $100 to $150. The motion again passed without opposition.

The $100 fee to rent the pavilion for horse shows did not increase, though the $100 cleaning deposit will again be in place.

After discussion, the board selected Southern Skies Photography over Say Cheese Photography to take pictures of players in the little league program. Board President Kevin Terrell asked if the board thought that Southern Skies proposal was fair to the board, paying $3 to the complex for every package sold.

“Don’t get greedy,” said member Jesse Thomas. “$3 is $3 and we could make $500 from pictures.”
