Can you taste it?

It’s once again that time of year. Time to shell out your wallets and support the local Girl Scout troops by purchasing those delicious cookies. And thanks to some new sugar-free selections, you might not even have to expand your waistline.

Girl Scout leader Mary Turner said that cookies went on sale on Jan 11 and will be available for order until March 16. There are two new varieties this year, as well as an older favorite that has a different appearance. One that seems like it could be a hit is a called Lemon Chalet Cremes.

“It’s a hint of lemon-sandwich cookie that has a hint of cinnamon and ginger and zesty lemon cream,” Turner said. “They’re very good. I was surprised because I’m not usually a fan of lemon in anything.”

Another new variety is the sugar-free chocolate chip cookie, which is made with real chocolate chips and a perfect way to support the Girl Scouts if you are diabetic. Turner said that when she tried it, she couldn’t even tell that they weren’t made with sugar.
