Jerry Good of the Hopkinsville Elevator Company said, “On corn, our receipts this year are about half of what we saw last year, which was an exceptionally good year. Farmers averaged about 160-170 bushels per acre last year in production and this year, only about 80-90. It all trickles down.”
According to Good, storage bins remain 80-90 percent full. “Last year we had to send a lot of it out by rail, which we haven’t had to do this year.
