Judge Executive Berlin Moore said that fuel costs for the county have risen over past weeks, similar to everywhere else in America, and the extra funding will likely go to an area that will hopefully benefit the price of gasoline.
“We’ve been tight here for gas, you know, they’re talking about it running out here,” Moore said. “So we’ll probably spend most of this new money on energy, I would say.”
He added that the county has been doing the best they can to save on energy costs by not running county equipment unless necessary, as well as other methods of conservation.
