“Rob’s impact on the program has been significant,” Ward said. “At this point in our program’s development, this move gives us the best opportunity to not miss a beat as we look to capitalize on last year’s championship season. Cross, a 1991 graduate of Murray State, has been an assistant coach with the women’s program for the last 13 years, serving under three different head coaches: Eddie Fields, Joi Williams Felton and Jody Adams. His recruits have included Joi Scott and Ashley Nichole Hayes -- who have won back-to-back Kodak/WBCA All-American honors as well as back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year awards -- and 2002 OVC Freshman of the Year Rebecca Remington.
