Funeral services for Curtis Franks, Sr., 91, formerly of Lyon County, were conducted on Friday, May 12, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Bro. Jim Fortner, assisted by Bro. Trent Cornwell, officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Kuttawa Cemetery.

Mr. Franks died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at 10:05 a.m., at Caldwell County Hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Franks was born on August 31, 1915, in Prairie, Miss. He was the son of the late Tom Lee and Myrtie Bullard Franks.

Mr. Franks was a retired mechanic; a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII; and was a member of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Moye Franks of Lyon County; eight sons, Troy Franks of Crystal Lake, Ill., Carlas Franks of Paducah, Curtis Franks, Jr., of Princeton, Roy Franks of Benton, Paul Franks and Jim Powers, both of Chicago, Ill., Bob Powers of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Glenn Powers of Springfield, Tenn.; three daughters, Charlotte Mitchell of Kuttawa, Bonnie Franks of St. Lucy, Fla., and Alice Franks of Eddyville; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
