Funeral services for Curtis Ray Wharton, 53, of Cadiz will be conducted on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Bloomfield Baptist Church, Cadiz. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. until the time of service at Bloomfield Baptist Church. Gamble Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.

Rev. M.D. Slade will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the U.B.F. Cemetery, Cadiz.

Mr. Wharton died on Friday, January 30, 2009, at 3:30 a.m. at his residence because of fire.

Mr. Wharton was born on December 4, 1956, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Lorraine Wharton.

Mr. Wharton was a former employee with the city of Salinas, CA. He was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include four brothers; Dwight Wharton, Cadiz, Byron Wharton, Salinas, CA, Gerald Wharton, Cadiz, and Excel Wharton, Louisville.
