Funeral services for Dalton Paul Young, Sr., 71, of Cadiz, were held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Cadiz. The Revs. Bob McIntosh and Doyle Thresher officiated. Burial with military honors followed at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Young died of natural causes at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

He was born May 22, 1939 in Minden, La., to the late William R. Young and Ollie Chance Young.

He was a farmer and a member of the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church as well as a member of the American Legion. He was a Retired United States Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Young; two sisters, Imogene Brown and Ola Bell Sullivan; and one grandson, Michael Paul “Mikey” Young.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary L. Young of Cadiz; two brothers, Theo Young of Blanchard, La., and William C. Young of Cadiz; one sister, Zelda Harber of Minden, La.; three sons, Dalton Paul Young, Jr. (and wife Elaine) of Whitehaven, Pa., Todd V. Young, Sr. of Cadiz and Wade A. Young of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Terry Lynn Hrudicka of Ill.; five grandchildren, Richard A. Osban, Jr., Torrie’ M. Young, Nicole L. Young, Todd V. Young, Jr. and Ashley M. Young; and one great grandchild, Kassidy Annlynn Dailey.

Pallbearers were Dalton Paul Young, Jr., Todd V. Young, Sr., Wade Young, Todd V. Young, Jr., Marshal H. Brown, Chris Dailey, Terry Lynn Hrudicka and Richard A. Osban, Sr.

Music was provided by Jenni Lee Feistel, vocalist and Barbara McIntosh, pianist.
