Mrs. Sherbit died of natural causes at 10:15 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville.
She was born September 21, 1931 in Franklin County, Ill. to the late Francis M. and Velma B. Hammis Greenwood.
Mrs. Sherbit was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cadiz Baptist Church and was also a founding member of T.O.P.S. of Trigg County, both clubs No. 400 and No. 497.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Greenwood and Kenneth Greenwood; three sisters, Sybil Lee, Mildred Darnell and Nadine Tennison; one daughter, Brenda Henry; and three sons, Bruce Henry, Ricky Henry and Jimmy Sherbit.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Sherbit of Cadiz; one sister, Charlotte Evilsizer (and husband George) of Herrin, Ill.; two sons, Randy Henry of Sparta, Ill. and John Sherbit (and wife Kelly) of Wheatfield, Ind.; two daughters, Brenda Noojin (and husband Sam) of Hammond, Ind. and Linda Pote also of Hammond, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Terry Henry, Mark Greenwood, Jason Hargis, Dick Standhouser, John Sherbit and Bailey Oliver.
