Darlis McAlister Calhoun, aged 80, died Sunday, March 1, at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation of natural causes. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at King’s Funeral Home.

Revs. Billy Stamps and Duane Burden will be officiating the service, and the burial will be at Millwood Cemetery in Caldwell County. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 3, starting at 4 p.m.

Calhoun was born on Aug. 22, 1928, in Trigg County to Joe Hester and Edna Jewel Hester. A factory worker and a homemaker, Calhoun was a member of the Canton Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, A. J. McAlister, her first husband, Willie Glenn Calhoun, her second husband, her son Joe Carol McAlister, her brother Jean Hester Blackburn and her granddaughters Kay and Faye McAlister.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; James McAlister of Dawson Springs, Charles and Alice McAlister of Caldwell County and Jackie and Bonnie McAlister of Caldwell County. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Jimmie McCallister of North Carolina, Jeffery McCallister of Paducah, Jack McAlister of Caldwell County, Sandy Adams of Cerulean, Michael McAlister of Savannah, Ga., Jo Carol Adams of Arkansas, Jamie McAlister of Caldwell County and Jo Ann McAlister of Caldwell County.

She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; Brandi Golding, Christopher McCallister, Jessica McCallister, Jarrod McCallister, Blake McAlister, Alex McAlister, Colton McAlister, Kelsey Jean McAlister, Duffy Jo Adams, Sophie Adams, Gracey Patterson, Cash McAlister and Jaclyn Vickrey. She is also survived by four great great grandchildren; Jayden Golding, Ariel Golding, Alyssa McCallister and Destiny McCallister.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canton Baptist Church Visionary Fund, at 423 Boyd’s Landing Road, Cadiz, KY 42211.
