Brian Gupton, executive director of the Dataseam Initiative, along with Secretary of Education Virginia Fox, Senator Ken Winters and Representative James Carr were on hand from Frankfort to celebrate the dedication.
Dataseam, along with assistance from the Cadiz Rotary Club and Cundiff Farms Proprietor Ben Cundiff got the project rolling earlier this year. The school’s Director of Operations Matt Ladd and teacher Shannon Burcham also played a key role in bringing the technology to the school system.
The Cadiz Rotary Club chipped in $15 thousand for computers and earmarked $5 thousand for software and other needs.
“You put some powerful fuel in your school system when you signed on,” Fox said, who remained adamant about the program during her speech to school officials and community leaders.
Cundiff contributed a large portion of the funding to the program from his own pocket, which was billed at almost $40 thousand.
