Rev. Mike Rust will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with Military Rites. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Thursday at King’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Thresher died on Monday, May 26, 2008, at 1:50 a.m., at Saint John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill., of natural causes.
Mr. Thresher was born on May 26, 1949, in New Berlin, Ill. He was the son of Irene Y. Thresher of Cadiz, and the late Marco Davis Thresher.
Mr. Thresher was a member of the Shanden Hills Baptist Church in California and attended Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Trigg County; was a maintenance worker for the Military; was a U.S. Army veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam; and was a Life Member of the VFW.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include four brothers, Doyle Thresher of Cadiz, David Thresher of Lincoln, Ill., Dencil Thresher of Buffalo, Ill., and John Thresher of Pekin, Ill.; two sisters, Veronica Charles of Springfield, Ill. And Sherry Wright of Lincoln, Ill.
Shelia Lancaster, pianist and vocalist, provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were Steven Thresher, David Thresher, Jr., Mike Charles, Jeff Charles, Matthew Boyd, John Sumner, and James Wake.
