Mrs. Mergenthal died Friday, December 4, 2009, at her home in Cadiz, Ky. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church where she had served as a Sacristant, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Usher and Server. She was on the board of directors of the Trigg Co. Humane Society, was a member of the Cadiz Lion’s Club and the VFW auxiliary, volunteer with Pennyroyal Hospice, member at large of the Hopkinsville Lioness Club and she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Claude Mergenthal of Cadiz; three daughters, Beth Craft of Florence, Pamela Frazier of Hopkinsville and Carol Kirby of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald & Mary Ann Frazier of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, Shawn Craft, Aime Craft, Tori Kirby, Levi Kirby and John Johnson; and special friend Marie Fording of Hemet, Calif.
She was preceded in death by parents Raymond E. Gentry and Alice (Grubbs) Gentry, brother Raymond Gentry, and two sisters, Mildred Overfield and Mary Keller.

Serving as pallbearers were Curtis Mergenthal, Alvin Harmeyer, Daniel Washer, Delbert Roeder, John Edwin Roeder and Levi Kirby. The St. Stephens Catholic Church Choir provided the music.
