The class, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Trigg County Hospital on January 22 meets every Tuesday through February 12. Topics covered in the class include meal preparation, nutrition, supermarket shopping habits, meal planning and dining out. Attendees receive a free hemoglobin A1C test & food measuring utensils and a free blood sugar monitor & cookbook. Though the classes last 90 minutes, organizers ask attendees to be prepared to stay until 12:30 p.m. on January 22 for education oh now to use the test kit. Admission to the class is free.
Muscarella said in an email, “Participants are encouraged to attend all classes and one of these classes will even be a local grocery market tour with Registered Dietitians as the tour guides.”
The class is presented by a partnership between the Purchase Area Health Center, the Trigg County Health Department and the Trigg County Hospital.
