Rev. Roy Marquess, Jr., officiated at the services. Burial followed in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Mrs. Walther died on Friday, July 14, 2006, at her home of natural causes.
Mrs. Walther was born on October 9, 1926, in Hopkinsville. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Hattie Marquess Hendricks.
Mrs. Walther was referred to as “a pillar of strength” by family and friends, and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Green; two daughters, Linda Sue Rupp and Brenda Faye McKinney; a stepdaughter, Marcia Long; and three brothers, John B. Hendricks, Cecil Hendricks, and Billy Hendricks.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Clayton Walther; daughter, Glenda R. Nickels; stepchildren, Pati Nesbitt, Dottie Baxter, and John Walther; 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Local survivors include aunts, Thelma Moore and Lois Marquess of Cadiz; and a number of cousins in Trigg and Christian counties.
