Funeral services for Dot Beorn, 83, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, October 20, 2006, at 11 a.m., at the Cadiz Baptist Church.

Rev. Kevin Roberts officiated at the services. Burial followed in East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Beorn died on Monday, October 16, 2006, at 6:35 p.m., at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes.

Mrs. Beorn was born on November 23, 1922, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Marquess Thomas and Emma Turner Thomas Beck.

Mrs. Beorn was an LPN; a member of the Cadiz Baptist Church; Greeter for the Cadiz Baptist Church; member of the Homemakers Club; and former owner and operator of the Tally-Ho Shoppe in Cadiz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Beorn, on June 11, 2006; and a sister, Christie Newberry.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, George Randy and Louise Beorn of Akron, Ohio, and Rusty Cheyenne Beorn of Cadiz; daughter and son-in-law, Dixie and Sam Greco of Phoenix, Ariz.; half sister, Ruby Nelson of Princeton; niece and nephew-in-law, Delores and Joe Elledge of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kelly Greco and Chris Greco of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy Michael Beorn and Jacob Beorn of Akron, Ohio, and Tina Marie and husband Nick Powell of Virginia Beach, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Alex Hynes and Emily Greco of Phoenix, Ariz., Hannah Beorn of Akron, Ohio, Jamie Cheyanne Powell and Ashley Jordan Powell, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a special friend, Ed Drew of Cadiz.

Sue Rich, organist, and Bob Higbee, soloist provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Ed Drew, Bill Lisch, Jimmy Futrell, Seldon Earl Thomas, Philip Miracle, and Jerry Ray Tyler.

King’s Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
