Funeral services for Douglas E. Centers 76, Murray were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated. Burial followed at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mr. Centers died of natural causes at 11:29 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Centers was born Sunday, July 9, 1933 in Quick Sand. He was the son of the late Ben and Susie Ann Huff Centers.

Mr. Centers was retired from the United Auto Workers and former owner and operator of Centers Bait and Tackle in Calloway County. He was a member of the UAW Union. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill Centers, Marvin Centers, Jay Centers, Tom Centers, Dave Centers; and three sisters, Sudie Lorene Centers, Anna Gammon and Marjorie McIntosh.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Centers, of Murray and Douglas Centers, Jr., of Rockwood, Mich.; one daughter and son-in-law, Susie and John Keenan of Murray; one sister, Sally Perez of Westland, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Blake Centers, Jillian Centers and Alexander Brillhart.

Serving as pallbearers were Roger Sipple, Blake Centers, Doug Centers, Tom Centers, John Keenan and Wally Centers.
